HTC Backup can be found in Sense 5.0 and up. This is from a One with 4.3/Sense 5.5
We’re talking One and One X/X+ and those with Sense 5.
This will NOT work on HTC One, but just on One X/X+ or other phones that didn’t start life with Sense 5.
Go to Settings > Personalize > Home screen style, where you select the home screen style you want. Traditional or Blinkfeed, I have blinkfeed on myself since that is where I think that sense 5 shines. If you use it: you will start to love it.
As on recent HTC phones.
When you’re on start of the app launcher, pull down with your finger once to reveal a menu type thing where you can select how to view and such. And to the right you have Menu where you’ll find Grid Size, simply select 4 x 5 to display a total number of 16 apps (it uses one row for other things).
Can start with saying that I didn’t have much problems with at all, it just works. But: I did do two factory resets on it. Why 2? to see just what htc backup could do, missed to check it the first time.
Meaning a backup followed by factory reset and restore.
The update started to recently roll-out here in Europe, and will reach most unlocked devices inside a few weeks or so. Version number on my update is 2.18.401.2
This is what’s about it so far:
HTC will be offering upgrades to some of its existing devices in the next few months, including global variants of HTC One X, One X+, One S and the HTC Butterfly. It’s important to note that some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates.
